Are frogs an ingredient in Witch's brew?

This year Gauge was a Frog and Grace was a Witch. I kept teasing Gauge that Grace was going to put him in her witch's brew! lol

We met up with the cousins to do some Trick or Treating in Mama and Papaw's neighborhood. With the cousins getting older.....sadly our number of Trick or Treaters has dwindled in the last couple of years! 20082009

Gauge did pretty well for the first few streets then decided that it was a lot faster to hop back in the stroller and have Daddy push him to the next house. He also decided that it was more fun to reach into the people's bowls and pick out the exact piece of candy that he wanted.

He was also cracking us up because he would walk up to the people, get the candy and then say Thank you. While walking away from them...he would then say "and trick or treat!" A little backwards, but it got the job done! :)

For whatever reason we could not for the life of us get Grace's hat to stay on her head. {note to costume makers....all hats NEED a chin strap of some sort}. This caused a few moments of breakdown mode with tears and angry looks. After the first street she decided to loose the hat...and was much happier after that.

The kids had a great time running from house to house in the short one hour time span our town gives them. As a kid, my favorite part of trick or treat was sitting on the floor with my brother once it was over....dumping out our bags and swapping the loads of candy we got!

I can't hardly believe that we have yet another Halloween down. Boy, does time zip by quickly when you're having fun! I love my family!

It's the great pumpkin(s)

Great Grandma purchased two gorgeous pumpkins for the kids.

They waited patiently....

The ole spoon was ready to go. Seriously, I think this spoon was around for pumpkin carving since I was a kid. Note the beautiful "Harvest Gold" color. It is now designated as the Official Pumpkin Spoon!

When it came time for the carving, Grace was really into long as it stayed on her spoon and it didn't actually touch her skin.

Gauge was all big talk until it came time to actually do it. We didn't have any gagging like last year, but he did two swipes with his spoon and declared "I'll just let Sissy do it!"

Smile pretty for Mommy!

Now show us your scary faces!

Oh, my little blog how I've missed you! I've been busy working on THIS and THIS and THIS.....and sadly you have had to take a back seat for a little while. I do want to blog about:
-  My son's new big boy room
-  Our recent trip to COSI
-  Our upcoming trip to Great Wolf Lodge
-  My new business
-  How our Couch to 5K worked out
-  and much more......

But sadly, those wonderful posts will have to wait until the month of October is over with....because this month is right down CRAZY for us!

Honey Haven Farm

Fall is Pumpkins...warm apple cider...hay rides...mums...corn mazes. Where can you get all of those wonderful things of Fall all in once place? Honey Haven Farm. Saturday we knew that we wanted to take the kids to a pumpkin patch and I also wanted to take a trip to the Outlet Mall. So....I decided to Google what pumpkin patch was near the outlet mall. It directed us to Honey Haven Farm. Based on their pictures and description, it sounded like a great place. So we loaded up the car and hit the road.

It was a beautiful, clean, family friendly, family run farm.

We enjoyed delicious homemade pumpkin doughnuts, a hay ride through the corn field....

and an awesome adventure through the corn maze. Just ask Shawn....I have been wanting to go through a corn maze for over 10 years now. Literally!

I finally got my wish. It was such much fun....and challenging.

Everywhere you turn....there was more corn that looked just like the corn you already past! lol

I have to say, thank goodness for Shawn and my Dad's directional skills, otherwise who knows how long it would have taken us to get our cards punched. But.....we did it!

Of course we had to pose for the keepsake photos.

And we found a couple of the cutest pumpkins that you ever did see!

The kids also had a great time checking out the kid's straw maze!
