Many of you saw my post about making homemade laundry detergent. I loved it so much, I thought that I would try my hand at dishwasher detergent.
Ingredients:
Borax
Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda

Kosher Salt
Citric Acid or in this case Unsweetened Lemonade Packets
Cute Glass Jar

Mix together:
1/2 Cup Borax, 1/2 Cup Arm & Hammer
1/4 Cup Kosher Salt and 10 packets of lemonade

Stir well, and pour into a cute jar. I used an antique atlas canning jar with bale.

If your dishwasher has a place for Jet Dry, fill it up with straight white vinegar instead.
Use 1 Tablespoon of detergent per load.
This detergent became hard as a rock in the container. The next time I made it, I used real Citric Acid instead of the lemonade mix, omitted the salt and added a piece of pantyhose filled with rice to the container. The pantyhose absorbs the moisture preventing it from become hard.
