Sparkly Clean

From day one

I have referred to Gauge as my Baby Bird. This all originated back when he was bottle fed and then progressed on to being spoon fed. The way he would open his mouth reminded by of a sweet baby bird being fed by his mama.

Yesterday evening he told me that he had to go potty. I asked him to try and do it himself. I know that he is fully capable because he does it all the time at daycare. He then decided that he really didn't have to go all that bad. The next time I looked at him he was walking a bit bow legged and waddling like a penguin.  Here is the conversation that followed:

Me: Gauge Rylen, did you just pee pee in your pants.
Gauge: Yes
Me: Go to the bathroom right now. Why on earth did you just pee your pants?
Gauge: Because I want to be your baby bird forever!
Me: Oh sweetheart, you're always going to be Mama's baby bird.....even when you're a big boy and go pee pee in the potty.

{Isn't that the sweetest thing}

I love a great find!

Yesterday on an outing with the family.....I convince Shawn to stop in a local furniture store so I could look around. I found this sitting in the bedroom furniture section and thought it was ADORABLE.

little mismatched unfinished

Just because it was missing another piece that it originally came was marked down to $15. Can you believe that? My hubby is pretty handy and I have all the confidence in the world that it will be a breeze for him to make a little wood top for this and it will be good as gold. The kids are currently using a shelf in my pantry for their art supplies. I can now reclaim my pantry!

I knew that it was a bargain....but exactly how great of a bargain was it? I did a little investigating and found out.......

This adorable desk from Little Missmatched retails on their website for $455!!!!

We came, we saw....

Grace played some basketball!
Saturday was Grace's final Hoops for Him game.

For such young kids, half of whom have never played basketball before....

They had a good season!

The coaches (including my hubby who couldn't be there for this picture) did a great job with the girls.

Mommy and her basketball star. I'm so proud of her!

Grace was on Cloud 9 with her first ever trophy.

Check out the awesome closing ceremony. The Hoops for Him volunteers did an outstanding job and we are blessed to have such a great ministry right here in our own church!

I apologize for the horrible video quality :(

Reap what you sow

This is our second year to put out a garden. Shawn has been working for the past couple days to get it nice and plowed. Today we went out and raked/hoed it into beautiful rows.

Grace was super helpful by picking up all the big rocks out of the garden
Grace/Garden Collage
When Mommy & Daddy were done putting in the corn, carrots, lettuce, spinach, broccoli, zucchini, peas and summer squash...Grace helped Daddy plant the pumpkins.

Once we get past the frost free date, we will put in our tomato and pepper plants.
Now all we need is some beautiful sunshine and April showers.
