Chances are...

Chances are that you don't have one of these growing in your backyard!
Oh how we wish that we did though :)
I have found many creative (and legit) ways that you can earn money on the internet.

  • Ebates  Joining Ebates is always free - you'll never pay anything. And four times a year or more, they'll mail you a check, or transfer the money to your PayPal account if you'd prefer. They can even send the money to your favorite charity. All 100% free. By shopping through Ebates you earn a percentage back from over 1200 stores

  • Blastoff Network Whether you’re ready for an entertainment system upgrade, planning your next vacation, or want to increase your collection of music, books, movies, or clothing, the Blastoff Mall and Travel portals offer over 400 popular online merchants, each offering up to 15% cash-back on every purchase. And when you’re ready for your next cell phone, home phone, cable, satellite, or internet service, then Blastoff offers great rewards on these as well. At the end of each month, Blastoff mails you a check for your accumulated cash-back rewards total. Blast off cuts checks when you reach the $20 threshold. Another great thing about Blastoff is that you earn when those who sign up through you earn....up to 10 levels down!!!!

  • Shop at Home  ShopAtHome.com customers can count on generous discounts. In addition to discovering and ordering specialty catalogs from the comfort of their own homes, consumers also will receive discounts from $5 to $25 off their first purchase. In addition, consumers who want to shop from member sites simply click directly to the site, complete their transaction and maintain all normal warranty and service relationships with the vendor. Consumers may also receive cash rebates of up to 30 percent of the purchase price, exclusive discounts, coupons and free shipping promotions.

  •  Swagbucks You can earn Swagbucks by Searching the internet and by shopping online. The "Swagbucks" you earn can be used to make purchases in the Swagbucks Swag store.

  • MyPoints is a great site where you can earn points by searching the internet, online shopping and reading emails. You can then use your points to purchase gift cards to your favorite store.

Here is my take on these sites:
I recommend that you sign up for all of the above sites. Be sure to check your email after signing up. They may require a confirmation.

Here is how I would use all ALL of these sites to my advantage:
  1. Earn Swagbucks for searching the internet.
  2. Earn MyPoints by reading their emails.
  3. When doing your online shopping, check with Ebates, Blastoff and Shop at Home and compare the %'s to see which one is going to give you the most money back.

Can you guess?

HERE is the answer to the question: Can you guess?

What store...

My husband has a theory that we CANNOT walk out of a Target without spending at least $50.
I believe to this day it has held true. There is always {SOMETHING} that we {NEED} there! I had some Target gift cards burning a hole in my wallet, so this weekend when we went to do some Christmas shopping...I of course {HAD TO} spent them. Here is what I bought.

A brand new shower curtain and rug for the kid's bathroom. I was getting so sick of looking at ducks. Here is what it looked like {before}.
Isn't it adorable. Now all I need is a trashcan and toothbrush holder to coordinate.
My dog's treat container was just an ugly ole plastic container so since it sits on my counter and I have to look at it every day I thought it might as well be cute. So she got an upgrade.
So those are my purchases. What store do you love so much that you can't walk out of without spending at least $50?

Such a big...

question from such a little girl!

Last night as Shawn was tucking Grace in bed she said
"Daddy, if I'm bad at school and say that I don't believe in Jesus am I going to go to hell?"

Of course Shawn was shocked. Who would expect such a deep question to come form an almost 5 year old?  Not really knowing what to say, he asked her what made her ask that question. As it turns out, an older cousin had told her about a classmate who said they didn't believe in Jesus. We're not sure what other conversation took place after that.

But my question is as parents are we ready to answer those tough questions....even from a 4 year year old? Of course we believe that you should never denounce God and we teach our children about the Lord and to love the Lord....but how do you answer that question and not scare her or confuse her?

Busy Busy

We had a busy but great weekend! It started off by having our friends over on Friday night. The kids had so much fun playing together, and we had a great time catching up. Here is a picture of four of them (we're missing Naomi).

On Saturday morning we took our Polar Bear Dog to FINALLY get groomed. Isn't she so cute!

On Saturday night, we went to Columbus with my brother and his wife to see the Blue Jackets play. If you're not from Ohio, they're our professional hockey team. We started off the night by grabbing a quick appetizer at Gordon Biersch.
Here I am with my awesome Sister-in-law Sam :)

My brother and Shawn being goofy. Why is it so hard to get two grown men to just give a good smile? LOL
We had awesome seats, thanks to Sam's boss.

Here's the view from our seats

And the cute little mascot banging his drum

Go Jackets!! We were so excited that we got to see them win!

The weather was absolutely beautiful on Sunday. Who would have ever thought that in Ohio in November I would have the windows open in the house. I did laundry literally all day and Shawn took the kiddos fishing in the pond. They didn't last as long as he would have liked so they ended up just coming back up to the hosue and playing in the back yard.

Then on Sunday night, we made these lovely creations. Yes! They're supposed to be pretzels!!
Another great weekend down. I guess I really should start thinking about doing some Christmas shopping soon......

Tiny Talk Tuesday

If you know Grace, she has something against noodles. She loves Macaroni and Cheese, but freaks out at any other kind of noodle. Whenever I'm cooking supper, she will say "It's not noodles is it?"

So, last night we were sitting at the dinner table. I had explained early that this was "special noodles" called Fettuccine. When the proverbial question came up "How much more do I have to eat?"   Grace said "What are we eating again? Pediatrician?"
