Trick or Treat, Smell my feet...

This Halloween it was pretty clear early on that Gauge was going to go as a Dinosaur. He loves stomping around the house and saying "RROOAARR!" Grace on the other hand didn't have one particular thing that she thought she just "had" to be. Her only criteria was that it be something girly and cute. I get sick of seeing Princesses all the time because that's what her every day dress up clothes are. So....when I found this Harlequin outfit I thought it was perfect!

Here are Mommy's cuties. My how they have grown up since last year!

Here are all the cousins:
Back: Jadyn, Jennya, Sawyer
Front: Gauge, Grace, Selia, Sy, Brett
Our little family.
I think she's the cutest little Harlequin that I've ever seen!
Daddy and his girl

That's not a scary Dinosaur, that's a stinkin' cute Dinosaur
The kids had a ball running around and getting candy. When they put Gauge's candy in his basket, he kept saying "I can't believe it!" At one point he told a lady "Thank you and Tootaloo!"
The Queen of Hearts and her Court Jester

Grace went full steam ahead the entire hour
while Gauge got tuckered out and needed a ride from Daddy :)
The weather was pretty chilly, but we were thankful that it wasn't rainy. Another great year of Trick or Treating down! Now, where did they put their candy...........LOL :-)

Happy Halloween

One of my favorite parts of....

Halloween is watching my kids carve their pumpkins. It's always interesting to see how they feel about all the slimness from year to year.

It's has become a tradition that Papaw is the official pumpkin carver.
The kids tell him what they want it to look like
and he goes to work making it happen.

This year, Gauge wasn't so sure about the pumpkin guts...
He poked his spoon in a few times

and even held it up for us to see.
For the most part, anytime he got near it he began to gag.
I felt bad, but it was actually kind of funny. I just never expected Mr.Rough Neck I'm
so tough Gaugeto gag over the insides of a pumpkin!

Grace on the other hand was really into it!

Scrapping out every piece she could find.

Mommy's pumpkins with their pumpkins :)

Gorgeous!

Like it's been forever

Have you ever met someone for the first time and felt like you have known them forever? I have!
Back in early October, I did just that. Shelly and I have been speaking online for months but just hadn't had the opportunity to meet in person. So one day we decided to have a girl's night out at a local Starbucks. I got there first and when she walked in we gave each other a big hug and commenced chatting up a storm. We talked so much that they ended up having to kick us out at closing time! That didn't stop us. We still stood outside talking for about 15 more minutes. That initial meet up left us wanting to get together again soon.

A few weeks ago, Shawn and I had to go to Shelly's town for a funeral. When she found out, she didn't miss a beat and invited us to come to her home afterward for dessert and adult conversation :) We had so much fun and she was so gracious to let us come over....even at 8 o'clock in the evening! We sat and chatted until about 10. The cool thing was that our hubbies hit it off just as well as we did.

Now I can't wait until they get to come up to our house and all of our kiddos can meet
each other :-)

Crazy busy....but fun!

We had a crazy busy weekend, but we had lots of fun together! It started off on Friday when Shawn had Daddy and Doughnut day at Grace's preschool. This is something that she looks forward to literally all year! Shawn has started a tradition of going out on a date with her once the festivities are over at school. So their day began at 10am with crafts, doughnuts and cider in Grace's classroom. They then all paraded to the gym for some dancing.

As you can see...the kids were way more into it than the Daddies :-)

Here is Shawn and Grace with her awesome teacher Mrs. Linda.
After Daddy and Doughnut day, Grace and Daddy headed up to Splash Harbor for some water fun.

We ended our Friday night with Family Night which consisted of Old Maid, Go Fish, Chutes and Ladders and lots of yummy Oreos.

Saturday morning and afternoon we spent down at Polaris running errands and doing some shopping. I convinced Shawn to let me stop at the Goodwill down there and much to my surprise...I was able to find 3 pair of jeans and 4 shirts for myself! I know, that's completely unheard of!!  Shelly would be proud of me :)

Saturday night, my Mother and Father-in-law come over to watch the kids so we could go see an awesome concert at our church.

We got to see Jason Gray

Addison Road
and Sanctus Real. It was a blast and we had so much fun! Now, I can't wait till Natalie Grant comes in December...so for all you Natalie Grant fans out there...grab your tickets now!

On Sunday, after church we went out to eat with my Mother and Father-in-law for a sort of delayed extended birthday celebration. When we got home, I then took the kids to my Aunts house so they could meet their newest baby cousins. Followed of course by some fun in the leaves.

I hope you all had a great weekend as well!
