Well Loved

I love Antiques. When Shawn and I were first married we loved going to antique malls and auctions. Since having kids we haven't gone hardly at all. Someday we'll get back in to it :)
I buy antiques based on if I love them or not...I could care less about the value. Here are some of my favorite antique pieces.

My late uncle bought this piece for my aunt. When she downsized her home a few years ago, I bought this piece off of her. Not only is gorgeous, but I love knowing that my uncle bought it. Oh and I love the little cast iron clothes iron sitting on top of it. Can you imagine ironing your clothes with one of those?

Earlier this spring Shawn and I had a whole day to ourselves so we spent it going antique shopping in Sunbury. Many of the stores were closed or out of business, so we we went to a garage sale instead. We found two sets of these beautiful wooden folding chairs there. They were actually pretty cheap so we bought both. One is here in our living room and the other is at our dining room table.
I love this crock because my Grandma gave it to me. She use to make sauerkraut in it.
Shawn and I purchased this crock at an auction probably about 8 years ago. It came in a lot with 4 other crocks in various colors and sizes. I use this one in my kitchen for my utensils.
I love this dress and shoes. I was poking around one day in my mother-in-laws attic (don't worry, she knew about it) and found this gorgeous dress and shoes in an old dresser. The dress belonged to her when she was a baby. The shoes, I'm not sure about...I'll have to ask ;)

I have this picture hanging in my 1/2 bath. Everyone asks if it's a relative. It's not, which is kind of funny...but what can I say, I just love it!
This church pew sits in my foyer. Isn't it beautiful? It's kind of naked. I think that it needs some pillows or something. I have been on the prowl for an antique hall tree to put beside it.
Do you love antiques too? Show me what you have and why you love them.

  3. I am an antique-a-holic. If you live any where near Massachusetts you need to check out Brimfield - three time a year they have a HUGE antique show. It's heavenly!
