Weekend Recap

We had a fairly busy weekend. On Friday night, I got the pleasure of meeting up with a blogging friend. Shelly and I met at Starbucks and talked until they kicked us out! LOL The awesome thing about bloggy friends is when you finally get to meet in real life it's not weird at all because you kind of already know everything about them. We don't have pictures of us together....I should have asked you to go get your camera out of your car Shelly :)

On Saturday we went over to my brother/sister-in-laws house to watch the Buckeye game. The kids had a blast playing with all their cousins. Usually in instances like that, I don't get to enjoy the evening because I'm too worried about Gauge or he won't leave my side...but he did awesome and played right along with the big kids. He even crashed on the couch beside me.

When we got home from the game....about 11pm, I made this yummy thing!

Pumpkin Cake
Cake                                                       Frosting
2 C. Sugar                                             1 six oz pkg cream cheese
1/2 tsp. salt                                            3 C. powdered sugar
4 eggs                                                    3/4 stick butter
2 C. pumpkin                                        1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 C. Cooking oil                                2 tsp. milk (or more until desired consistency)
2 C. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Blend sugar, eggs, pumpkin and cooking oil together. Add flour, baking powder, soda, salt and cinnamin. Bake in 9x13 pan at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until done. Cool and frost.

On Sunday after church, we had a Pastor Appreciation Picnic
The kids had fun playing in the leaves
and painting pumpkins

Don't you just love fall? The colors, the smells....

Gauge played a solitary game of Cornhole
and we curled up by the campfire and enjoyed some yummy homemade potato chips and doughnuts that these wonderful people made on the campfire.
Great to face the long work week ahead....

  1. My weekend went by way to fast. I didn't even do much and I'm so tired. I love the pictures, you guys looked like you had a lot of fun. The cake also looks very yummy!!

  2. "corn hole" hee-hee!

Sounds like you did have a fun weekend! Um, can I just scarf that cake down by myself? It looks incredibly tasty. There's nothing like pumpkin and cream cheese to make my taste buds happy! :-)

I know, I wish I had gotten my camera out, too. Although when I got home and brought it in the house I realized that I had forgotten to put the CF card back in it and so we couldn't have taken a picture anyways! LOL! Maybe next time...

Thanks for stopping by and leaving us a comment.
