Land Between The Lakes: Marina & Nature Center

On our way from Mammoth Cave to Kentucky Dam Village....
we made a pit stop at The Land Between the Lakes. We had horrible thunderstorms the previous night which contributed to the overcast, hot, and extremely sticky day. We pulled into the Marina so the kids could see as the sail boats.
and the gorgeous view of the lake.
There were adorable cottages surrounding the marina. Can you see one perched way up on top of these rocks?
We took a walk out on to the pier. Both the kids were obsessed about pointing out all the goose poop, so we wouldn't step in it! LOL
It is so hard to get both of them to look at me and smile at the same time.
Now Dad's the culprit :)
Beautiful
After we left the marina, we stopped at the Land Between the Lakes Welcome Center. We found out that you can buy a fun pass that will get you into all the little attractions that they have to offer. We bought one and decided to spread out our little excursions for the next few days. So our next stop was the Nature Center.

The kids really enjoyed seeing all the animals.

The Bald Eagle
The adorable little screech owl.
This guy with a beautiful rack. The kids thought it was funny that the deer were eating carrots, broccoli, and strawberries.
They had beautiful flowers
and TONS of hummingbirds
Gauge even got to color a little picture.
