We packed it in!

We sure did pack in the fun this weekend! We started off our weekend on Friday by making a trip to Marion. We took the kids to CiCi's pizza for tons of yummy pizza and games. We then took a pit stop at Odd Lots to buy some flower pots, garden hoses, and sprinklers. Grace's prize from the Trike-a-Thon was a $30 gift certificate to WalMart. So we went and bought the kids some much needed summer clothes and PJ's. Here is a pictures of Grace and Gauge wearing their brand new Mickey and Minnie PJ's. They were so so happy! It's amazing how happy a new pair of Jammies can make kids :)

On Saturday, we took a trip to the zoo with the kids. The weather was absolutely perfect! Gauge: "Sis, you ready to bust out of here and go see some animals?"
Grace: "Yep, let's blow this joint!"
Whooo Hooo, we finally made it!

Daddy and his Mini Me
Mommy and her Mini Me
We rode through the tunnel
We were amazed by animals.....

We sat on LOTS of animals......

We enjoyed a wonderful picnic lunch....

Watched the diver feed the fish in the aquarium
Visited the birds in the aviary. Although.....Gauge did not like the birds at all!
He kept saying "Go way birdie!!!!"

We rode the boat

Climbed around on the jungle gym. This part made me nervous. All those crazy kids in there and trying to keep track of your own....Ugh!
Cutest little caged Monkey in the entire zoo!

This next part was Gauge's favorite by far. We got to ride the "Choo Choo Twain!"

We brushed goats.....I mean, I think they literally brushed every single goat there!!

On Sunday, we went to Marion again to take Shawn out for his birthday lunch. We went to Mi Jalapeno. At the end of the meal they all came out plopped a big sombrero on his head and sang to him in Spanish. At the end of their song, one of the waiters reached around and shoved whipped cream in Shawn's face. We all thought it was hysterical.....except Grace. She was instantly upset and buried her face in my mom's shoulder. She would look back up until she heard Shawn say that he was ok and that he thought it was funny too.

After lunch we came home and had cake. My parents and Shawn's parents were over to spend the day with us. Here are the grandmas entertaining the kids
While the grandpas relaxed and chatted.
I'ved decided that Mr.Gauge takes way better pictures when he doesn't know you're taking them! LOL :)
Perfect ending to a perfect weekend!

  1. Awww! I love weekends like that! I love our zoo, huh!? Looks like you all really covered the ENTIRE thing!! My tolerance for the zoo is about 2 hours, and my tolerance for that playplace is about 2 minutes; I know what you mean about trying to keep track of you kids- it makes me jump out of my skin!

  3. Your kids are crackin' me up with their hats and sunglasses! I love it!

I'm with Shelly...I've got a 2 hour tolerance for the zoo. But then again this is the 1st summer in a long time I'm not pregnant...so maybe I'll be more energetic. :)
