Happy Anniversary

On this day 8 years ago, I married my Best Friend!
The year was 1993.  Shawn was a Senior and I was a Sophomore in High School.  He stopped me on the sidewalk one day as I was walking to meet my brother for my ride home.  He wanted to know if I would like to go out with him on Saturday.  Of course I was super excited and said yes!  Shawn had a job at a local retail store and couldn't get off work until later in the day that Saturday.  I still can't believe it, but my parent let me break curfew on my first date!  So what ultra romantic thing did we do?  We went to see the movie Mrs. Doubtfire of course :)  The funny thing is that I had already seen the movie with my best friend.  I wasn't about to tell Shawn though, because I didn't want him to be disappointed.

From that point on we were inseparable!  You know how people back in High School would break up and get back together multiple times? That was never us.  We went to 3 proms together (the 3rd was my senior year when he was in college).  We even went to the same College.  We got engaged my Junior year at Ohio State.  At this point, we had been together 5 years.  We were engaged for another 2.  I wanted to wait until I finished school before we got married.

On December 9th, 2000 we were married in a beautiful candlelight ceremony surrounded by family and friends.

Happy Anniversary Sweetheart!
The best is yet to come!  I love you!

  7. Lacie, I loved reading the story about how you and Shawn came to be! Believe it or not, it brought tears to my eyes recalling the memories. I remember the day he asked you out! It was a long, long, time ago when some other girl had a semi-obsession with a Dew Man! LOL! But seriously, it is an honor and privledge to have know you both from the very beginning. You were truly destined for one another. I could not be more proud (and inspired) by the love that you share! Congrats! Love you! Rach
