Weekend Craft Project
What do you do with those chunky crayons that your kids think "they're too old to use now?" I borrowed an idea from Make and Take. Grace and I made recycled chunky crayons together.
First you peel all the paper off your crayons
First you peel all the paper off your crayons

Break them into pieces

Place the pieces into a muffin pan

Bake at 275 degrees for approx. 10 minutes or until melted.

Once the pan was cool to the touch, I popped them into the freezer until completely cooled. Pop them out of the pan.

Now you're ready to color!

What a cute idea. This is something I will have to try with my two year old.

This is a fun idea I had forgotten about...my daughter once got a gift baggie of them on Valentine's Day...they were made with a heart shape tin.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fun reminder!
Yeah! I am so glad you tried the crayons. They turned out great. I keep collecting the stubs and am about ready to make some more. I have seen some others done with molds made of different shapes. I need to get my hands on those. Thanks for the link love.
